Computer: Pismo with G4 accelerator card; Tiger

Problem: The computer doesn't always recognize that the power cord is plugged in. I've tried known good power cords. If you "jiggle" the power cord and hold it there at an angle, the computer does recognize the power cord.

Questions: Is there a simple fix to this without having to take apart the computer? If the only solution is that the DC board needs to be replaced, will a Lombard DC board work. (I have a partially functioning Lombard that is available for parts and I am comfortable with doing the repair myself, even though accessing the DC board means pretty much taking the whole computer apart.

Thanks!

No. Obviously, you have to take it apart. Got any friends that can solder? That's probably all it needs: a touch up.

Don't know about the Lomarb question. Do some ebay searching and see what you can come up with. If you need a manual for taking apart the machine, PM me and I'll send you one. Anything to keep our Pismos running.

I currently have a working Lombard sound/power card. If I try that and it turns out that the Lombard card is not compatible/interchangeable, is there possibility of causing any damage or should I try it and if it will work it will work, if not, it won't work (but won't cause any damage).

Thanks.
