Memory: 768 MB DDR SDRAM
Video Card: ATI Mobility Radeon 9200

Chipset Video Card: ATY,RV280M9+

I have my iBook one year four days ¨NO WARRANTY¨ and the LCD display change colors and sometimes flash it and goes very white. The video card is ok i make the hardware test and no problems appears, i plugin anothers displays like a CRT, LCD and the TV and the colors and brightness are OK.
I tried ColorSync, and other sofware for LCD Calibration. I reinstall the system OSX 10.4.4 and install Ubuntu Linux, I flash the PRAM. But nothing the LCD display is always very white, no contrast, sometimes go purple like clouds.
Obviously I reviewed everything in preferences and firmware for the Video Card... I have mac from the Macintosh model 512k and SE30.
YOU can see the problem in my Web http://www.aeig.cl/ibookproblem.html
Sorry, my english is bad. Please I need Help from you, the Apple Support in my Country is not so good.

Check something for me... open your System Preferences, and open the "Universal Access" PreferencePane. Under the "Seeing" header, look to see that the "Enhance Contrast" slider is set down to normal. I'm on 10.3.9 currently, but I'm pretty sure 10.4 is the same in this respect.

good call but i am not convinced from the pictures it is a contrast probelem,
it looks like a colur issue as yes it's all washed out but look how blue the highlight selection of the left menu in finder is, almost liek the red or green channel is screwed or summit....

MichiganRich I already done, Thanks. The problem of the screen became in the beginning more evident when it used a startup disc began flashing (no the flash from "Preferences/Universal Access"), and later sometimes more than half of the LCD Display was in black (verticals rays black and gray). Until the screen stayed as faded or bleached.
Please need Help

Sounds like it could be a faulty connector/cable to the screen from the logic board or a faulty connector on the screen or logic board.
Is there any change when you wiggle screen back and forth?
Since it is only 4 days out of warranty, you could ask your local Apple repair shop (if you have one) to see what they can do or you can tackle the problem yourself.
I would start by removing the back cover of the LCD (since it's the easiest) an try giving the connectors/cables a wiggle and pull. If the picture changes or goes black completely the you you most likely have a faulty screen cable or loose/broken connector which you will need to replace or repair.
Take apart guides are available from www.pbfixit.com
Good Luck,
Sean

Thanks for your time seanc
I did everything what you said, no change when I disarm the computer and I move internal cables. Apparently the error is not the cables, since I proved all. sometimes I think that is a software problem since when initiating with some bootables discs the image changes (the display never got perfect, but the problem is diferent) .

If it is never perfect at all then it must be a hardware problem.
I have no idea what but am still leaning towards an LCD or cable problem since the external displays work ok.

tried starting the mac in safe mode???
have you got an external monitor to hook it up to??
if you can hook it up to an external monitor and it runs fine then you can rule out a screen problem and possibly connection to the logic board, as long as it's the connection which sends the signal to the lcd and not the connection from the board to the GPU....
