What is everybody else's opinion on the name "MacBook Pro?"

I would have preferred "PowerBook Intel," since the major distinction is the Intel-manufactured chip.

My reasoning is as follows: Having "PowerBook G4" represent "Macintosh PowerBook G4" sounds comparatively natural, but having "MacBook Pro" represent "Macintosh MacBook Pro" sounds silly and redundant. It doesn't make sense to take out "Macintosh" from the full name, either, because it's still a Macintosh.

It's a little like McDonald's® making a McBurger. Think of this image: the McDonald's® McBurger being eaten at McDonald's® by a Macintosh MacBook Pro user. Notice the inefficiency, awkwardness, and redundancy in the names. In my opinion, this sounds amateurish, clunky, plastic-like--cannon fodder for PC users.

I'd rather imagine a Starbucks® Café Latte being drunk at Starbucks® by a Macintosh PowerBook Intel user. Notice the efficiency, elegance, and conciseness in the names. By contrast, this seems to sound sophisticated, elegant, aluminum-like--something to show off.

What do you prefer?

Don't you have anything better to do with your time? Why would anyone care less about what Apple names a new computer? Besides Powerbook Intel is even more retarded of a name.

"Why would anyone care less [my emphasis] about what Apple names a new computer?" You probably mean, "Why would anyone care at all about what Apple names a new computer," since if you're asking why anyone would possibly care less, then you mean that they should care more, but that doesn't seem to be your intention.

See the thread "Alternatives to the name 'MacBook.'" I wasn't the first one who didn't like the name.

Just why do you think that "PowerBook Intel is even more retarded of a name?" If you're using the comparative adverb ("more"), then you're already admitting that "MacBook Pro" is "retarded." In that case, what other alternative(s) do you suggest?
