Hi,

My Ibook has suddenly started causing me real problems. I couldn't log in a couple of days ago and was met with a blank blue screen after the Apple Logo disappeared.
After following some of the troubleshooting steps on the Apple site using fsck and all that I can now log in but only for a few minutes before everything freezes again. I have to leave it at least an hour before I try to log in agian otherwise I am met with the blue screen.

Aso when I do manage to get into the sysytem my airport network has disappeared and it says it can't find the base station and everytime I try to use airport set-up or the admin utility the big freeze starts all over again. I don't think there's a problem with the airport network as I'm using it now to post this message on another computer just my computer recognising the network etc.

If anyone has had similar problems or can help me to get everything working again it would be greatly appreciated. I miss my mac!

Cheers

Andrew

Hi,

My I.book has suddenly started causing me real problems. I couldn't log in a couple of days ago and was met with a blank blue screen after the A.pple Logo disappeared.

Aso when I do manage to get into the sysytem my airport n.etwork has disappeared and it says it can't find the base station and everytime I try to use airport set-up or the admin utility the big freeze starts all over again. Try booting off the CD/DVD and see if the screen is still blank. From CD it should launch the Installer with no problems. If it cant your issue could be hardware related. To help it would be nice to know what steps you already have done

Ok before I just had a blue screen and I did everything as descibed in this thread which I found http://forums.macosxhints.com/archiv...p/t-29902.html

After that the login window started appearing again and I can log on but like I say only for so long before everything freezes again. Also my it's not recognising my airport base station.
