Hello, I bought an ibook yesterday, it has some minor flaws and it's under applecare, anyone knows if applecare will cover these:

Battery gap (the battery sticks out a little bit)
Faulty keyboard (one of the keys has to be pressed a bit hard to work)

Well, other than that i'm really happy with it (i switched from a tibook) the only things i dont like (compared to tibook) are: keyboard and screen.

thx in advance, matias

Keyboard? Maybe. Battery? Probably not. Just about every G4 iBook seems to have a bit of battery protrusion; it's not a problem, only cosmetic. The keyboard may be a real issue, though; if one key is giving you problems now, how many will give you problems soon? I'd take it to the Apple Store to see what they'll do about it.

First off, the AppleCare doesn't kick in until a year from your purchase date. So, it doesn't matter whether you have AppleCare or not right now.

The battery they probably won't fix. I don't think they can fix it (without replacing the whole bottom case at least). The keyboard they might replace, but unless the key isn't working, I wouldn't be too sure. From my experience, the iBook keyboard has to worked in a little before you can judge it. Wait a week or so and see if the key is still giving you problems.

i took out the keyboard and realised that the keyboard data cable is pushing the keyboards membrane upwards, i cant fold it or anything, seems they didnt put it the right way when they added some ram and ended up folding the cable so it doesnt fit right, ill call and check.
Too bad about the battery issue
