heLLo,
Having sold my old powerbook recently, I'm in the need of getting a new powerbook G4 asap.
But so far, everything I seem to hear/read about the latest Rev of powerbook "HD" is aweful!
I personnaly cannot believe that every model sold from october til today are affected with the audio/loo/stutter bug, and display lines problem!
So is there anyone here, who bought that powerbook G4 HD, and is trouble free, and perfectly enjoying it??? (as we all should when we get a new mac!)
Thanx for your help.

Why are you not looking at a Macbook Pro. The G4s were basically at the end of their lines a year ago, let alone now. A new PB wont last nearly as long as a new MBP. And if its the whole software/universal binary thing, then (i may be gong out on a limb here) considering the poor performance of the PB, the MBP should be able to run powerpc apps through Rosetta at similar speeds that the powerbooks will run it nativly

I recently purchased a pb g4 and I think it is wonderful. Granted i had mine upgraded to 100gb 7200rpm and 1.5gb of ram. The standard powerbook i found to be sluggish compared to wht mine offers to me. The upgrades are def worth the money.

btw... mine is the 120GB 5400RPM with 1.5GB of ram too.
Now I would go for a MPB but that wasn't two months ago. Anyway I like my 60 pixels.

I ordered one about a week after they came out and the first powerbook they sent me had a bad optical drive so apple sent me a new one, and when that one came it had a bad ram module. luckily I ordered more ram through a 3rd party and was able to use that while the bad ram was replaced, but otherwise i haven't experienced any other problems. well, except my "c" key has the clips broke on the back and i'm having a hard time replacing it as i don't wanna spend the 15 dollars through a 3rd party to replace it. Has anyone had a similar experience with the plastic clips on a keyboard key breaking?

Thanx very much for the feedback guys! really appreciate it :-)
I finally got it this afternoon. And so far so freakin good!
I did get again a G4, because I dont have the time nor the $$$ to get into the whole UB with my LogicPro, and the Dozen of plugsin Im using on a daily basis on my G5. Thats only why.
But i have no doubts, the MBP should be a mighty machine soon too, just like the PB was in its time.
Thanx
