Tibook freezing upon insertion of PC Card

	I recently was handed down a 500mhz tibook, running 10.1.5. I purchased a buffalo G54L for it, as theres no airport card installed, but whenever I put it in the computer freezes up until its removed. If its inserted while off and then booted, it refuses to boot until the card is removed. Is there any way to resolve this issue besides upgrading the OS ?
