my computer: 12 inch g4 powerbook (1GHz)

i have a 512 MB cruzer micro drive. the problem: shortly after i connect it to my powerbook's usb port the heat fan starts up and continues to run. if i unmount the flash drive and disconnect it, the fan stops running. can anyone tell me if this is a general or known problem, or is it something peculiar to my powerbook or cruzer drive? of if it is actually considered a problem?

thanks

Weird. I've got the same PB and the same flashdrive [edit: my cruzer is 256MB] and I've never noticed the fan coming on when I plug it in. Does it come on when you connect anything else?
