hello,

my mbp 2.16 came today, and it's my first mac... i have a couple questions about expose..

is there anyway to close a window when you're looking at the expose? or is it only for selecting a different window?

what's does f10 do? bring the application in use to the front??

thanks

You cannot close a window while looking at the expose, F10 brings up all the application windows.

Velocity means Application's windows. F10 brings up all windows which belong to whatever application was currently selected, focused on etc. So if you're in Apple mail and click twice on an email message so that it's displayed in its own window, and you press F10, you'll see the main window for mail and the opened message as your choices. F9 is non selective. It just displays them all.

No way to close a window while using Exposé, it's purely for selection or surveying (but you can use it to great effect along with dragging and dropping).

On the plus side, while command-tabbing through apps, you can press Q to quit apps (or H to hide apps) as you cycle through.
