As always I set my laptop to not wake from sleep when opened. In doing this with the macbook - typing sudo pmset -a lidwake 0, it asks for a password, which I give but it still wakes from sleep when I push the lid button.

anyone else have this problem? Can anyone help?

It's very possible that, thanks to the new architecture, that command doesn't work.

Are you asking for this:

Active Profiles:
Battery Power -1*
AC Power -1
Currently in use:
disksleep 10
hibernatemode 3
sms 1
displaysleep 56
sleep 60
autorestart 0
hibernatefile /var/vm/sleepimage

?

That would be a rather big bummer to have to baby my MBP, especially as I have been so accustomed to throwing it latch side down in the bag and not worrying about it. Ugh. At least it takes less time to boot...

Yes, that's what I was asking for... since lidwake is not listed, it's a safe bet it's not functional on the intel machines.

Could anyone give a non Terminal user the exact steps to put in these commands? And return commands to original. My original Aluminum does wake a lot while being carried in the bag. I would love to stop this behavior. I sent it back under warranty and they replaced the latch to some improvement but not enough. Thanks.

In Terminal, type the following:

sudo pmset -a lidwake 0

Then press return. You will be prompted for your admin password. Enter that and press return. Then you're done. The computer will only wake when you open the lid and then press a key. To undo, repeat the above steps but replace the "0" with a "1."
I'll miss this feature when I get around to buying an Intel book.
