Without a PCI slot, my Verizon EDVO card is worthless on my MBP. Anyone been successful in achieving cell-phone based internet access on their MBP via any of the following methods, please enlighten all of us:

1) find a mobile carrier (in US) that sells an Express Card for EDVO service
2) find an adaptor for using PCI cards in the Express Card slot that works on a MBP and works for cellular internet access
3) get your existing mobile phone to work as a bluetooth modem. I have Verizon Treo 650 and failed to get it to work using instructions found here: http://captnswing.net/howto/treodun/index.html

Thanks, Bill

Are you sure your EVDO card is a PCI card? Most are PC cards.

A USB connection to my LG VX 8000 works just fine on Verizon. Just like it did before on my pb.

Yes, I meant a PC card, specifically I have a PC5220 for Verizon

If someone has this working on a MBP with Verizon with a Treo 650, I would greatly appreciate it if you would post detailed instructions.

Thanks

They may sell a cable to connect your phone to the usb port to use instead of the card. You may want to research that too.
