Ok i have always used windows but liek the feel of the powerbooks and osx when i looked into them while recently shopping for a laptop. Now I ended up buying a 15 inch powwerbook. was this stupid lol. I was just curious with the core duo versions out was it not smart to get a g4? I only didnt opt for the core duo becasue i like to steer clear of brand new technology like that but i dont know.

Nice grammar. Yes, I think you should have bought an MBP instead of a PB. Unless one of the specific problems people have posted about here (screen angle, lack of universal pro apps, faint buzzing) is something that would really bother you, I don't see any reason to chicken out just because it's "new technology". With a forum like this, you can find out exactly what all the upsides and downsides will be, and then make an informed judgement beyond just "it's new and scary".

The G4 will serve you well for several years to come!
Adobe is not upgrading CS2 to work until new version in 2007!
P..... envy will get you everytime! (that is Powerbook envy! or macbook pro....)

sorry my grammar isnt up to par, but thanks for pointign it out it really helped me with my choice on the computer. I am very tired and i really could care less at the moment. So when you say they weren't upgrading cs2 untill 2007, do you mean that i wuldnt be able to run photoshop at all untill 2007 on a macbook pro. Also it isnt a factor of its new and scary. I have been in the computer field for the past 6 years and technology does not scare me it was the fact that every manufacturer using the core duo was pushing release dates back which tells me there is an issue with them.

Adobe has made no such statements.
A universal binary of CS3 is expected out in 7-13 months.
Until then CS2 works fine under Rosetta; faster than the G4s in some things, slower in others.

Way to go pal. You just managed to reenforce all of the negative stereotypes some people have about mac users.
Did you just sign up to troll?

No, I didn't. I signed up to learn the advantages and disadvantages of getting the new MBP, so I could make an informed judgement as to whether I should get one or not. I responded as I did because I was honestly confused as to why someone would avoid new technology as a matter of principle (he later clarified, but that was the impression I got from the initial post) when he could read the threads in here and learn for himself exactly why he should or shouldn't have gotten it. I'm sorry for offending you (and the original poster). With the exception of the "nice grammar" comment, I did actually mean for my post to be helpful.
