My rev B 12" powerbook died last night.
I took it in to my local service centre this morning. At lunchtime the guy phoned and said it was a dead logic board, and that it couldn't be fixed. He's offering me 200 Canadian (plus the analysis fee) in exchange for my powerbook's cold, dead corpse (I'll keep the HDD).
Before I say yes, does this sound a reasonable price? The battery was virtually new (just replaced in November) and it has 768mb RAM. I'm prepared to take a hit to save the hassle of selling the bits myself on ebay, but I don't want to be fleeced.
More importantly, is it true that a replacement logic board can't be fitted? Surely they can still be sourced?
