I have a PowerBook and receive internet access via internal wireless card I can share that connection via Ethernet with other computers (or vice versa).

The question is: can I add a new wireless card and receive and share internet using the two cards eliminating the hard wired Ethernet portion?

I know I can get a router but that will add to the equipment I need to carry.

Does anybody have this setup and what wireless card works for you?

I’m on a 15” Aluminum PowerBook OSX 10.4.5

Thanks

I come from a windows background, and based on that I can say its possible. Use the built in card for direct internet access and use the addon card to create a small network with the machines you want to share the internet then enable the mac equivalent of "internet connection sharing". I think you might get a better answer in the networking forum.

I forgot to post this in the networking forum. In theory I think it should work but want to see if anybody has a working example.

Snag a copy of IPNetRouter. It's an awesome software Router.
