So last year, I bought Tiger when it came out. I installed it, and just as when Panther came out, my Superdisk expansion bay drive wasn't recognized. As I use it occasionally, I've had to go back to Jaguar as my operating system as Jaguar will recognize my Superdisk drive. So now I'm stuck with 10.2.8. Rock-solid but slow compared to Panther and (to some extent) Tiger.

In the coming months, I'm gonna get either a new combo drive or superdrive and a G4 upgrade, and I'm looking forward to installing updated software (that only runs on Panther or higher), but it would suck to lose my Superdisk drive in the process. I've got a lot of stuff backed up on superdisks. Just like PatchBurn allows OSX to recognize unsupported DVD drives, is there any utility like it out there that would "patch" Tiger to recognize my Superdisk drive?

Can't you just scour eBay and find the USB version? Pretty sure that works in Tiger.

That's always an option, but it negates the whole portability benefit. With those drives comes the a/c adapter.
