Hi guys,

i have recently hooked up my PB17" to my tv via a s-video cable and played a movie on it. Of course the screen dimensions was adjusted to match the tv and also the screen on my PB was adjusted too... probably like a 'mirror' setting.

Thats all nice and when i unplugged my PB my screen was back to the normal resolution... however.... upon startup when you get that grey screen and the dark grey apple and the little spinning circle at the bottom, the screen resolution appears like it was when the tv was plugged in... ie, i get a large grey apple that is slightly widened and the cirlce is bigger and widened too.

have you got any ideas i can try to get the startup screen part back to normal??

regards,
robM

Try resetting the PRAM, cmd-option-p-r held at boot until the second boot chime.

i have no idea what caused it to keep changing the screen at startup... and i likely will never know.. but all is well that ends well..

thanks for the tip steve
