I have a really weird thing that happens on my PowerBook that doesn't seem to happen on any other Macs that I use.

I have a 1.6GHz PowerBook w/ 1GB Ram, Running OS X 10.4.5

When the computer is idle for a period of time, say 10+ minutes, when I return to the computer, the first keystroke I type is ignored. I can come back to the computer, use the trackpad and click within Safari, but the first time I press a key on the keyboard nothing happens until the 2nd key.

I don't remember this happening when I first received the computer, I am pretty sure it started to happen when I installed Tiger.

Not a big deal, just really annoying ...

Anyone's input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Looks like its acting as if it were in sleep mode the first key stroke brings it back from sleep and then everything works. So the screen is still being displayed right? sounds weird. I would tinker with the power settings if I were you.

Yeah, the screen is being displayed. Power settings were set to never go to sleep. It happens when I leave the computer idle for maybe 10 minutes. The screen might be dimmed out when I come back. If I move the curser, the screen un-dims and I can click and navigate in Safari or whatever. Even if I am surfing the web for a few minutes, if lets say I get an IM, when I respond in iChat, the first character I type doesn't appear.
