Just yesterday, i got 1GB of ram for the MBP making it 2 GB with the 2Ghz intel core duo, and a 100GB hard drive at 5400rpm. i was wondering how well it would handle Unreal Tournament 2004, and wrather than waiting to ask and find out. i went and bought it after installing it and upgrading it to Universal Binary it RUNS GREAT just about 75fps for me at Max everything. I also played off the Battery for about 35min exited the game and it was showing i still had 1:35min left of battery! It truely is a Road Warrior.

I haven't tried UT2004, but Doom 3 works excellently on my 1.83 with 1.5 GB of RAM.

Yeah it's to f**cking bad that there are no universal binary DEMOS to try out. I would have bought both applications HAD i been able to actually try them.
Both companies say "universal binary" then force you to download a huge demo that's powerpc... What is "universal binary" is a patch the companies offer, which of course can't be applied to the demos, AND ONLY can be applied to the FULL game.
In my opinion both companies are jerks, for the first time in a while a mac that can show off games, and they screw me over.

If you'd buy them both, why do you need a demo?

Given the less than stellar economics of bringing games to the Mac in the first place, what gives you the impression that spending developing time on a demo that caters to a currently insignificant number of users that have an Intel Mac would be a priority? Especially for a game that has been out for 2 years already? Did it occur to you that making the demo an UB might just take as much time and effort as it does for making the full game an UB - and in all likelihood they wouldn't even get paid for doing it as it would be outside of their initial remit from the publishing company?
