Just wanted to let everyone know that CompUSA has a Logitech v270 bluetooth mouse on sale for 19.99 after rebate. I picked one up and it's working just fine with my new MacBook pro. It's a heck of a lot better than apple's sad little wireless mouse for 69 bucks.

Are there universal drivers for it yet?

oh, sorry, I messed that up. Still, I thought this was worth it for those who don't want to spend to much one one. I don't know about universal drivers, I just loaded it through the bluetooth interface and needed no drivers. It works fine. Nothing fancy of course, but it's a lot fancier than that crappy apple wireless mouse. I tried that out first, and it drove me nuts not having a scroll wheel..
Anyway, I just wanted to point it out in case anyone else might be interested. Sorry if it offends anyone, I know logitech isn't the greatest company in the world.

I just paid over $50 for that same mouse! I guess timing is everything.
It does work well...it finds Bluetooth quickly, and I like having the on/off switch... should help with battery life.

I guess since it's just an ordinary 3 button mouse (functionally speaking), it wouldn't need drivers. You can configure all the buttons using the usual mouse pref pane. My Mx700 has a bunch of buttons that I can't use yet because LCC isn't universal (I'd use USB Overdrive but it doesn't work for keyboards).

Just for the record, the V270 is available at newegg for $36 standard, no rebates to worry about.

I'm using a Logitech MX900 on my MacBook Pro and the only issue I have is that I have to re-set up the mouse every time I start up the computer. Otherwise the lag is not noticible-- just when you haven't been using it for a bit it takes a fraction of a second to wake up is all.

This one has truly been fantastic so far. It is, as stated, a basic mouse. Only left and right buttons, plus a scroll wheel. but that's all I want. No lag, it doesn't drop the connection on me, it just works. More than i can say for the feature less apple wireless mouse.
Also, this mouse rings up as 39.99, so even though you can get it for 3 bucks less online regularly, now's not a bad time to get it locally and save a bit in the long run (if you don't mind rebates).

Yeah, I am a little weary of rebates myself. The only one I've ever actually recieved back was from Panasonic, and that was $300 so they couldn't really get away with 'losing' it. The list of those I've sent out and never recieved back is absurdly long, including some pretty high-profile names such as Seagate and Canon. I just don't trust the mail-in system, online rebates are the only practical way to go.

I have a V270 as well... bought it at my local Apple store several weeks ago. Works great, and Logitech's documentation (and website) states specifically drivers are not necessary for Mac OS X (works just like any wired 2 button+wheel mouse). My wife uses it as her desktop mouse (iMac G5 w/ Apple bluetooth keyboard)... she likes it more than the Apple BT mouse she was using. I have to steal it away from her when I want to take it with me on the road w/ my laptop....

I picked one up at CompUSA yesterday. It's the right size for travelling and the soft case is an added bonus. No drivers necessary, works immediately after pairing. Just the right price at $20 for sticking in the padded backpack...
It's definitely better than the Apple BT mouse in terms of ergonomics, but it's still not terribly comfortable for long-term use even for moderate size hands. But I suppose I'll get used to it.
The feature I miss most from my Macally Q-Ball is the "one-page-up-or-down" with each click of the scrollwheel. This incremental scrolling is for the birds (and hard on the eyes.)
