Just wondering, on my MBP when I touch the bottom of the battery towards the front of the computer, there is a few mm of play and it clicks back and forth. I've just noticed carrying it around and such, and it doesn't really annoy me, but I'm just wondering, does anyone else's MBP have this sort of looseness to it?

It's been reported before on other sites. Actually, in once case somebody diagnosed this as being the cause for sudden and unexpected shutdowns of his MBP. In such a case I'd return it and get a replacement immediately. If it's just a slight wiggle however, you're fine.

a loose battery is bad: take it to the genius bar for an exchange.

my rev A Ti-400 was plagued by the loose battery issue, sometimes even dropping out (abrupt shutdowns!) Apple recalled it to install a thin rubber strip in the battery compartment designed to force the contacts up against the terminals (I could've installed it myself, but "no" that wasn't possible...perhaps I didn't have the necessary skill?) Didn't solve the problem. I took it to the genius bar and they quietly replaced the battery with a new model that fitted correctly.

congrats, masters2010! great outcome...

did it take a lot of persuasion, or did they seem to know about the issue?

I just talked to the guy about this issue and my battery also seems to be losing a charge even when it's off so with the two of them the guy just told me he would send me another battery.
