What does this have to do with Powerbooks?

Those solutions should work. If they don't, reinstall. Also try reinstalling Quicktime.

Try running Safari in Rosetta until the plug-ins are updated.

there is no way to force safari to run under rosetta because its universal, ans rosetta is not a user selectable application

That is not true, you can force Universal apps to open using Rosetta, do a get info on the app in question and check the "Open using Rosetta" check box.

The latest updates to the flash plug-in are not universal - the version that shipped with the MBP was (yes, wtf are Adobe doing when they release "updates" that are downgrades when it comes to functionality? Who knows?). Flip4Mac are working on making their plug-in Intel compatible but it isn't yet available.

Flip4Mac will run via Rosetta:

- Download Flip4Mac ... it'll show up on your desktop.
- Control-click on it and select "show package contents"
- Double click on the "contents", then "Resources" folder
- Then double click on "Flip4Mac Quicktime components.pkg" to install
- Before you run quicktime ... do a "get info" on quicktime and check the open in roseta box.

Additional info:
After you've downloaded and installed Flip4Mac (post upgrading to Max OSX 10.4.5):

In your Applications folder: highlight QuickTime; go to "File" drop down menu and click "Get Info"; check the Rosetta box.

Then do the same thing in your Apps folder for Safari.

You then need to restart your computer.

heres the thing...

when i got my macbook pro, i was able to play videos on safari ....like when i go on myspace.com, or youtube.com...but a around a week ago all of a sudden it wont let me play videos anymore and it tells me that i dont have flash. which is weird cus i do or else it wouldnt have allowed me to play videos before.

anyways now i have to force rosetta on safari for me to be able to play videos on safari again.

my question is, is there any way i can go back to before, w/o having to open rosetta. cus rosetta makes safari runs really slow

thanx
