Hello-

A friend of mine just purchased a new iBook G4 which came with Tiger installed and backup installation disks. I am using a 1 GHZ Powerbook G4 running OS 10.3.9. Can I use her iBook Tiger installation disks to wipe my hard drive clean and install Tiger? or will this create a problem and completely disable my Powerbook? Thanks for the help.

The major problem will be those sleepless nights.... thinking about the Apple Police coming to get you!

IIRC it won't boot from the CD. The ROMs will not match and you will be told the model is not compatible with the dsks. There may be a hack...but I wouldn't know about that. Sorry I can't be of more help.

This should work fine. As long as you are using a newer build of OS X than the machine you want to install it on, there should be no problem. The disks that are shipped with each machine are specific builds of the OS that incorporate the new features of that machine. Future builds always include all of these features.
