Already? Is that a good sign or a bad sign?

With all the noise issues and people bringing back theirs, I am wondering about that too. It is mighty tempting though.

How long does it usually take for a new model to make it to the "refurbished" section?

Well the intel iMacs have been there for about a month, and they came out (i.e. shipped) about a month before the Macbooks did, i think. So timewise it seems pretty standard.

Overall, it seems like a bad indication of Apple's slip in quality control. And if the same thing happened with the Intel minis, then it's starting to look like a trend. Oh wait: If it also happened with the screens of the G4 PBs, maybe it's more like a plague?

Think about how many MBP they have shipped.... this is bound to happen. My wife went through 3 Dell's before they sent her one that works...... and I might add, she is quite happy on her 12" PB now. ;-)
