Hello I thought I share with everyone that I finally decided to semi-switch and buy an Apple. I am typing on it as we speak. It is so different. Boots up faster than my gaming PC, no way, YES WAY. I just need to buy one more stick of RAM. Anyways I bought the 1.83 stock one. A few questions?
First what is the best irc client for the Mac? On the PC side I been using Polaris script, yes I know it is old however I was running it with the new mirc 6.17 and I will still continue using it on my gaming rig. Second how do you burn a dvd or cd? I am not new to computers but last night I had the hardest time applying a wallpaper, weird. Third now since I am trying to learn a new operating system, what are some of the best free programs out there, e.g. codecs, ftp, and ...

Thanks
siderick

You should post questions in relevant forums (e.g., ask OS specific questions in the OS X forum). You'll get better answers that way.

Yeah we could go on forever, best thing is to try versiontracker or macupdate.com they even have a section dedicated to universal binaries http://www.macupdate.com/macintel.php or even apples own software download site, http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/

but congrats on the MBP, you'll love it!

Apple uses all three major vendors (Hynix, Micron, and Samsung); the only way to be certain is to open yours up.
Crucial (the retail arm of Micron) has 1GB for your MBP for $138 with free 2 day shipping and no tax in most states.
