My 12" Powerbook wouldn't charge up because I dropped it on the port that hooks up to the charger. I had it repaired and now it won't recognize the Airport card. When I first got it back the Powerbook wouldn't even turn on. Instead of going to the grey apple screen a folder showed up with a question mark and then some text appeared. It was similar to the blue screen of death that my PC gets from time to time. I bought a new card, installed the software and still nothing. I went to About This Mac> More Info> and the Airport card is not there. I'm really cofused because it was working until my battery was completely drained. Can anyone offer me any solutions? Thank you.

I highly recommend trying to reseat the Airport card. Many problems can be solved by this because even though you may think it is inserted all the way, you may not have gotten the final little "click" that it is all the way in. When the card is properly in all the way, the end of the card is flush with metal around the opening for the card. If any of the card is visible, it is not in all the way. Try pulling it out and then push it back in until it is fully seated.

I did exactly what you said and this time I could see the card but it wouldn't connect. I installed the drivers again and nothing. So i just reinstalled 10.3 and it's working now. Thanks for your help Steve.
