Um, this is probably a stupid question, and it isn't really powerbook/MBP specific but I don't know where else to ask: I paid for three years of Applecare with my new Macbook Pro. Am I supposed to receive something to show that I've got it? An e-mail, something in writing, anything? Am I supposed to register online? The money has been paid but I've got nothing other than the invoice to show that I've got it. I've never bothered with Applecare before but after my last powerbook died...

When I ordered my MBP with applecare from apple they same thing happened. They register your MBP serial # with the applecare so that you don't have to register anything then they also send you a packet with all the info.

It's registered to the machine's serial number. So if you decide to sell it, AppleCare is linked to the machine itself, not the owner.

Yes and if it is sold before Applecare runs out, the coverage can be transferred to the new owner.

Thanks everyone. So I guess I'll sit tight for a while yet and wait for something in the post.
