I'm not posting the link because I don't want any accusations of affiliate links.

I found the deal on macprices.com, so link through there if you want.

10% off, and they have the FAR HP 5740 deal as well.

I was holding off to get my A9 discount from Amazon, but the 10% beats even that (and the Educational discount for that matter, assuming you have to pay sales tax).

Orders are going through FOR NOW, I just ordered a 2.0.

The 5740 sweetens the deal because it is an easy 40-70 on eBay (trust me I've sold about 4 of them), thus lowering the price even more. Even Amazon doesn't have the 5740 rebates. Find a USB cable around the house, stick in the printer box (without opening it), and put it on eBay "CABLE INCLUDED!"

I think I just might order mine for college. Now that they can boot windows and OS X I wont need to worry about getting a PC or Mac.

I just ordered mine (1.83 model) from here last night! I had placed an order earlier in the day for one of the Apple refurbs @ $1699 which said 3-5 day shipping and after tax my total was around $1809. A bit later, when I got my confirmation from Apple it said my estimated ship date was the 13th with an arrival date of the 20th!!! Yikes! I'm not a theoretical math genius or anything, but an order placed on the 6th shipping on the 13th looks like seven days to me, with another seven days shipping time! Two weeks?!?!
Anyway, I found the OnSale deal and went there. Said 'Same Day' shipping in their listing and even though the price after the 10% discount was $1794, there was no sales tax. So, I added UPS second day shipping and my total thru them was $1822. Yeah, $13 more, but I am getting a NEW machine and not a refurb - not that I've ever had any problems with other refurbs I've bought from Apple - plus I'll be getting it much sooner!

I was just about to order one for myself but wanted to talk to our IT guys to see if he would be cool about hooking up the company network and me doing all my Windows things. He is VERY anti-Mac. He asked who was paying for it and I told him myself. He said wait and he would see what he could do. So, we go out to lunch and he tells me if I do all his inventory he'll buy me one. The disadvantage is it's company property but I'm also not paying $1,800 like I was about to.

If this didn't have an Intel chip and was able to boot into Windows there is no way this would have happened. Anyways thanks for the heads up on this deal. I would have taken advantage of it.

Is there a direct link? It's not showing up.

I was about to order from there, but I decided to check resellerratings.com first. I think
I would rather spend the extra money and get one from Apple, even if it is a refurb.

I did just before posting this thread. They called me today to verify the order/credit card info, so it looks like it will ship Monday.

Is it possible to ensure that one gets the latest rev [now up to rev D I think]? How can you be sure that the company is not selling earlier models from earlier stock? Just asking, that's all.

I also got me confirmation call today and it's looking like a Monday ship for mine as well. No way of knowing which revision however.

post back when you actually get your machines. I did some more research on this company and it really didn't look promising.

The revision number(letter D etc.) is not a rev. number number show week of production!

Revision D (SN starts with W8611) MacBooks are said to have addressed a number of known issues.

Update:: It appears the two digit number that is described simply refers to the week of production and not distinct revisions. While fixes may have been incorporated, the # does not appear to distinguish revisions.

Now that's got me confused. I did not mention revision number or serial number in my post. What has any mention of such numbers to do with my question?

Woo-hoo! My order status changed to 'Shipped' this afternoon, with UPS 2-day shipping! I'll post back when it arrives for a full report! I also received my 512MB ram upgrade from 18004memory today so I'll be running 1GB as soon as the MBP gets here!

GOT MINE!!!!!

UPS delivered it a couple hours ago and I just finished transferring my data from my 12" PB 1.5. It was just as I had hoped... brand new, sealed and perfect in every way! I popped another 512MB module in there first thing and away we go!

I have nothing to say about OnSale other the best of comments. They were courteous in all communications, offered a fantastic price and speedy shipping. I don't know why others have had less than good experiences, but I would not hesitate to buy from them again and I probably will soon!

Man, this machine is sweet!

I got mine today. It came a day early cause I live near where it shipped out of. It's so nice. I love it. It's got the whine though but that's easy to get rid of with the mirror widget.

You can try macconnection or amazon. Both have a $150 mail rebate.

amazon adds tax, so the rebate is negated. I just called onsale.com and the sales girl gave me the 10% off on the phone. Turns out to be a sweet deal. $90
cheaper than the refurb I had ordered which is delayed, and now cancelled. Brand new machine, manufactured April 5. whooohoooo!!!!

UPS 2 day turned into UPS 3 day, but at least I have it.

Gotta love the double (actually triple) boxing. Actual laptop box, inside Apple laptop shipping box, inside onsale.com shipping box.

I got a W8610 2.0 which to this point appears problem free.

Now I just have to ebay my "free" HP printer to recover even more of the laptop cost!

You had to buy it at the same time as the Mac. It is the same deal that Apple has when you buy a new Mac; onsale mentioned the deal on the same page as the mac itself.

Buy a HP DJ5740 and get a rebate for its price ($89).

ugh, question, how long did it take for you tracking info to show up on UPS? Mine shipped
friday and my tracking number contains no information. Now, i am getting a bit worried.
If it went out like they said, I should have it tomorrow, if not, I guess I will be disputing the charges.

It took until the next morning for me.

I would give them a quick call, they answer the phone fairly quickly. Their system hides your tracking number anyway, all you see is the shipment status part from the UPS page.
