it probably uses the motion sensor for the hard drive, so I could see it work.

Very cool. If only it would work with the system off I would buy it in a heart beat.

Still useful, for example, in a school library when you need to run and pee or something, and wouldn't be shutting down anyway.

looks cool...but would this stop anyone from just closing the lid and walking away with it?

Probably the MBP's abysmal sleep times... close the lid, 30 seconds before it's actually sleeping. Possible that some processes might still be working during that time. Snap it shut, pick it up, off goes the alarm.

There's a little utility that ships with the Lenovo/IBM laptops that actually lets you see the laptop's position in space at any given time... nice little toy.

I posted a message on the site asking if it turned up the volume. I mean, especially in the library-peeing situation, I would have the laptop muted.

I just had a new question from watching that video...
I wonder if you can lock the computer via the remote and unlock it with the remote.
Kinda like the iPod lock/unlock feature.

iAlertU is available as a Beta on their site, nice program, just wish that that it would awake from sleep mode...but thats almost imp0ssable
