Hi,

I've bought an iBook 366 Indigo a few months ago. Tiger was installed on it and I was suprised how fine it works. But to safe memory and disk space I thought Panther would run even better on this machine. I tried to install it but the iBook won't boot from the system discs, then I tried an external cd-rom player(Firewire) but still the same problem. Then I started the iBook into Firewire-modus and connected it to my iMac and copied Panther on the harddisk.
When I started the iBook, I heared the chime and saw the Apple logo and the spinning thingy (not the beachball) then a grey screen appears and stays forever... When I start the iBook in Safe Boot modus, the iBook acts normally like nothing is wrong. The only thing is that he won't recognice my Airport card and internal modum. I have tried everything, change memory, reset pram and nvram, checked the Airport card, installed the system again but nothing helps!
Does anyone have a clue....? Sorry for the spelling but English isn't my native language, I'm from
Holland, Rotterdam.

Thanks,

Ben.

BlacBook | 2.0ghz core duo | 2x320gb | 2gb ram | mba superdrive

Could you try going to the apple store and get like maybe the OS 10.1 disk and try installing from that. Then if you get that to install, then try going back and installing panther agian. Or just try installing from the OSX Tiger disk again. If that works then just use Tiger and not Panther. How much RAM does your clamshell have? If it has at least 256 MB of RAM then you should be able to run Tiger on it.
