Hello everybody, I've been thinking about selling my One year old PB to get a new intel imac, and was wondering how much you guys thought I could sell it for, I've seen them on craigslist anywhere from 1200 up to 1500. So here's the specs, PB G4 Al, 15", 15ghz, 512mb, 80gig, DVD/CDRW, Applecare, Foofpod sleeve, power cables etc..., and an STM Bag I'd be willing to throw in as well. Thanks.

Out of interest, why do you want to sell it? It's a great machine. Do you have some specific speed need, or is it just geek envy? Is it that you don't actually need a portable?

My advice would be, if it will make you happy, get the imac, but otherwise, there doesn't seem to be a very good reason to get rid of a pb at that age.

Yeah i really liked your advice uicandrew, by the way do you go to UIC cuz I go to DePaul in Chicago, anyways, I really would like the speed, and the ability to play games, plus I never really take advantage of the portability, it is a great machine, but I'd really like to make an upgrade. Hopefully I could get 1400.

Craigslist prices are usually lower.... because more savy people get a better deal for cash!

Watch out on Craigslist. If you're in a big city, it shouldn't be a problem (face-to-face transaction), but lots of people will email you trying to scam the Powerbook.

Craigslist is a great resource, but be on the lookout for scammers.

I just sold a 15" G4 Ti PB 867 with 768ram on eBay for $1050. It was three years old and in great condition both cosmetically and computer wise. All the original disc, manuals and boxes. I upgraded to a 1.67 Ti 15" PB. Decided I would wait until all the bugs are gone from the new Intel models and all the software I use is compatible with the Intel. The new G4 1.67 is rock solid and I am very happy with my purchase. Three years from now I will revisit this once again.

Your response may very well apply to me with my 3 year old G4Ti PB 867. I really like the G4 PB and since it was going out of production I decided to go ahead and upgrade while I could still get a new one. At this point I would not trade my new one for a new Intel heads up.

Probably since you can buy a new one for around $1900. How much time left on your Apple Care. That is worth some extra $$. Fact is I did not see a lot of used 15" G4 Ti PB on eBay. The bidding on mine did not get real serious until the last 4 minutes of the listing.
