But when I do file transfers, it is copying at 1.1 speeds, and Virtual PC states there are no High speed USB ports available. According to everymac.com, my Powerbook comes with support for USB 2.0...... was this a frimeware update or something, I did a search on google and this forum and came up with nada. Thanks in advance!

Your Mac may well have USB 2.0 but VPC does not.

To verify, VPC does not support USB 2.0, only USB 1.1. So whilst your Mac has USB 2.0, VPC doesn't realise it, and hence can only copy at 1.1 speeds.

Have you tried a different flash drive? It could be that the Microvault it only USB 1.1 itself, hence it not being able to get USB 2 speeds

You don't say which 12" you have. USB 2.0 is only in the 1.33 and 1.5 GHz models, the last two models. You can confirm by going into USB in System Profiler and looking for USB High-Speed Bus.

I stand corrected. I worked on the design of the darn thing and I forgot when USB 2.0 was added. We added an NEC USB 2.0 chip for the 1 GHz machine. So yes, you should have USB 2.0.

I have the same situation with a Lexar 512MB formatted as FAT32- fast on the MBP and Win XP machine, slow on the titanium G4 which has only USB 1.
