Safari & Mail crash when changing network settings

The last few weeks or so whenever I change my network settings (I have several profiles - Ethernet, Wireless, Home, Work Etc.) Sarai and often Mail crash. I can't hink of any changes I've made. Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this or how to fix it? Not sure if it has to do with 10.4.6 or a security update.

Delete the preferences to both Safari and mail, and try again?
