This started a few weeks ago. I"ll be working on my PB and it suddenly shuts down-usually with a bit of a fizzle noise.

I believe it has only happened on battery power. I've tested my battery and although its capacity is now only about 60-70% of its capacity when it was new- the batteries was at least 50% charged when this has occured.

Once, I plug the PB back in it starts up-although at least twice it has reset my date/time and I get the "your time/date is before... this may cause problems with some applications. Otherwise, everything seems to function normally.

My concern is that its my PB and not the battery.

Does anyone know what else might be causing this?

Thanks
Mark

I have the same problem consistently. It happens when my processor goes in "overdrive" mode, as in Photoshop. However, I only have an 867MHz which was dropped by the previous owner, straight on the battery. Take that information however you will.

Thanks for the reply... I did drop my PB Alum but over a year ago. And this problem is very recent.

I thought it was the battery so I just purchased a Newer Tech replacement battery and it happened again 3 days later.

Anyone know of any other reasons this might be happening?

thanks
Mark
