I just installed 2x512 SODIMMs. Each chip is made by a different manufacturer. Performance seems a little choppy since installing them. Is there any way I can test the functionality of the chips? OS X positively reads both, but I imagine it's still possible one could be malfunctioning.

look for "Remember" on Macupdate. I believe it does the job, but I'm not sure how accurate it is, though.
