External drive disappear after sleep

Since I took 10.4.6 my external USA/Firewire drive can only mount on my MacBook Pro via Firewire. But even so the drive disappear after sleep.

Tried it with an intel imac running 10.4.6 and no such problem.

Could it be that I took the firmware upgrade to 1.0.1?

Any tips?
