Not sure if anyone faced the same scenario before. My MBP just woke up from sleep, and opened dashboard and clicked on the little "i" (info) of a widget....then, the unthinkable happened: my MBP completely stopped responding.

Not even "ForceQuit" could help. I had to press the power button for seconds to shut down the machine.

There have been reports of hard crashes with Intel Macs ever since the last security update. When the crash happens, you can still move the mouse pointer but the window system is dead. You can still ping your Mac, but you can't ssh onto it. Force reboot is the only way to deal with it.

I too am having huge problems with the 2006-03 security update causing hard freezes .. does anyone know if it can be uninstalled/reverted other than reinstalling OSX?
