ok, all you lucky birds..... Ya all wanna give an update on how the AirPort reception is compared to the TiBooks and AlBooks?

I'm surprised no one has asked this question yet?

Thanks.

It has a plastic case, not a metal one. The metal cases on the last several PowerBooks have been why they've had AirPort issues. Do the math...it should be at least as good as an iBook (which I've found to be very good).

It seems outstanding. I was in the local Apple store - and it found *11* networks. The closest MBP found 5.

Wireless reception is GREAT! I also use a core-duo PC laptop with the Pre-N card talking to the Pre-N router, and this iBook gets just as good reception. Better than the older iBooks. Even on the XP partition, reception is fantastic.

My airport reception has been absolutely unreal, coming from a 12" Powerbook. I was setting it up on the car ride home today, and I was getting a signal from hotels 500 feet away on offramps the whole way home (this was while driving down the road at 80 mph, inside a metal box). I'd say it's a step up.

Scary picture of you, Nathan, setting up the MB while driving home at 80 mph and monitoring wifi hotspots at the same time!

I trust you had the MacBook buckled in, so it was safe?

More seriously, if any new MB owners still their old laptop around, could we get some iStumbler comparisons between old and new?

Wireless reception is definitely better than my old 12" PB. My new MB can find 2 wireless routers other than mine. My old 12" PB never found them once.
