Thank you.

1) I need to know the average price, or what I should be paying for... OK, My powerbook G4 is out of commission. The inside port for the adapter has a short, and it does not charge, so it went to sleep, ultimately shutting down. I am deciding to just get the black macbook, and get an HD clone to it. How much should I be paying? Where? Who?

2) I have a 37" LCD Television, Can I hook my macbook up to that and functionaly use it? How?

3) My Powerbook G4 is officially a piece of scrap metal, But Im sure I can get something for it. 15.4", I think Superdrive, Its in really bad shape (Scratches, Dents) and the Screen itself has 1/3 dead pixels, unless of course you smack it upside the head a few times, and it comes back to normal. What can/ should this go for?

Please help, thanks.

Buy an external enclosure for the hard drive and just move all your data over to the new MacBook. I have this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817145329

If your TV has an S-Video port you can hook it up with an adapter.

Sell the PowerBook on eBay and get more than what it is worth out of it.

Thats my intro, just to be lighthearted, plus the people that vote will be ultimately uppin' the thread, so somebody with the proper answers may finally see it.

It's a stroke of genius. A little Message board 101 for you.

I vote "People like you shouldn't post on message boards"
Why?
* pointless poll
* overly verbose OP

It takes far too much effort to figure out that your questions are:
1. Where can I get the best price on the macbook? [answer: Amazon, if you don't need BTO and don't pay Amazon sales tax]; 2. can I hook up my TV? [answer: yes]; 3. How much can I get for my PowerBook? [answer: best way to find out is throw it on ebay. remember the rule of ebay selling: "You only need two idiots."]

If you would read, and not be so suited on crying about what people write, you would see I need the best price for the actual work of cloning my PB HD to my MB HD......

But no, you'd rather cry in your house or your job.

Go Get your wet wipes.

Thanks alot man....

But as far as the enclosure is concerned. Like I said, My PB cannot power on, so Pretty much, I might have to send it into an actual company or someone that is capable of opening them up and doing the HD clone. Thats what I was hinting on.

The S-Video thing is a go, but will there be any type of slowdowns or basic problems doing this.

ebay is your friend. I found my HD enclosure for under 30 bucks on it. It has both FW and USB 2.0 on it. Do a search for something like, firewire 2.5 case. you'll find many.

Good luck with your poll!

What I meant was..............

Do I do this myself? Like I said, my powerbook DOES NOT Power on. How do I do this myself if that is the case?

Or like the original post says, what is the best company option route I go to.

On the Television front, I just want to watch my family photos on the HDTV, just to brag and ****, so, now what will I be needing? Its a sharp Aquos, maybe you guys might know the connection.

If you have the time and the want to do it, anything is possible.

search: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/index.ph...g=PowerBook+G4 for a service manual and follow the directions. It will discribe how to take apart you book I did this for my HD and Combo drive upgrade.

It took about 3 hours to do the work and most of it was disassembly and sorting of screws (many types and sizes).

I found all the parts on ebay and everything has been fine since. Your issue sounds like it could be the dc input board and connector. So try to find it there.

If your wanting it done by someone one who is certified call you local apple store and ask who they refer to when asked about voluntary upgrades. Sometimes they can and will do the service much cheeper than apple. Someone should be in your area that can do it besides apple. Cincinnati, Oh has computerDNA. So I'm sure there could be someone where you live.

cant help on the tv thing, sorry.
