Just thought you'd like to know that, yes, some of these Macbooks have the same problem as the MBP. My MacBook makes that irritating whining noise. I turned on Photo Booth to occupy the second core, and that works fine, but then the Mooing noise starts. For those not familiar with these problems, check the many hundreds (thousands?) of references to these problems in the MBP.

Just noticed that both the processor AND the power supply whine like crazy when both cores are not in use. I'm taking it in for a replacement/refund tomorrow, and am expecting a ridiculous amount of resistance from customer service, who will no doubt tell me I'm crazy and hearing things in spite of this...

Damn! I love this computer too. Hopefully I can get one without these issues...

Is yours the 2.0 GHz model or the other one? Mine's the 2.0 GHz and I'm wondering if that makes a difference.

The Mooing/Whining probably means you need to feed Clarus

If your Macbook is white AND black, it's normal, you got a cow!

Just FYI, it only makes these sounds when it is plugged in. Otherwise it is silent. Also QuietMBP modulates the sound just as it does on the MBP. Again, only when plugged in.

Maybe you should have a tech look at it. (And perhaps try at an authorized center not a Apple store.)
