I have an iBook G4 (1.33 Ghz / 512 RAM) and I have noticed that the operating temperature is quite different depending on whether I am using battery power or have the adaptor plugged in.

When on battery power, the CPU Top temperature is usually around 30˚C whereas when plugged in it's usually between 45˚C and 69˚C. In the Energy Saver, both settings are on automatic processor speed and the hard drive is set to go to sleep when possible.

Why, then, the difference? Does anybody know?

Thanks!
