is this possible? I've done some google searching but came up with nothing too valuable unfortunately
Our apartment is quite old, and only has one ethernet jack which is on the other side of the apartment. My internet in my room(where the xbox is) is recieved through airport, perhaps the greatest apple invention ever
anyway, I can't imagine Bill Gates would make something like this easy, and I really don't want to drop ANOTHER 100 clams on an xbox wireless adaptor
any help is more than appreciated

So are you saying that your XBox 360 is not connected to the network?
Ours is and my roommate uses Connect360 to access his music and photos over the network.
Although ours is hardwired to the router now we have successfully used the old XBox wireless adapter for wireless access.

From what I understand, you need to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet, because it is not already connected. What you can do is, on your Mac in the room where the Xbox is, set up internet sharing, by going system prefs > sharing > internet sharing, and setting it up to share your airport connection (over which you say you are recieving internet access) with ethernet. Then connect your 360 to your Mac via ethernet, and your all set

No, but they made it as simple as it is. If he was using a windows PC and any old wireless setup, I can almost gaurentee that he would not be calling it 'the greatest invention ever'.

thank you very much, ill give it a shot right now
I didn't know apple didn't make airport, the big apple logo on my airport reciever decieved me i guess
before i owned a mac, maybe 4-5 years ago i had a microsoft wireless network, and let me tell you, it was a hassle indeed
i spent a day trying to set it up, and came to no avail...i called microsoft tech suppor(ugh) and theyre answer was to keep resetting the base station untill i got a successfull connection
it worked, but what a terrible solution!

I clicked start
I then plugged in the ethernet cable, turned on the xbox, and tried to connect
i got the same error

Did you go into the 360 settings and configure it to use ethernet after you had the shared connection all set up and connected? I believe the XBox needs a little reassurance that the connection is there if it wasn't before.
