Newie alert - I would like to use my Macbook PRO at work with my exernal keyboard and monitor. Since Apple does not sell docking stations how do folks handle this? Closing the display puts the computer to sleep & I'd prefer not to leave it open all the time. Any suggestions are welcomed and sorry for the lame question.

Yes this is the wrong forum, but i'll help ya out anyways

You need to connect 1) power 2) keyboard 3) mouse to your macbook pro whilst it is on, then close the lid, wait for it to sleep, then connect the ext monitor, wait a few secs, then press a button on the external keyboard to wake the lappie up.

Many thanks and sorry for incorrect forum posting.

I did scan for the "Lame Questions from Newbies" forum but could not locate.

Again - thank you very much.

You could also use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to cut down on the number of cables you need to connect it to, Ryan.
