Right, I understand what HD is and that there's blu ray and hd-dvd coming out.

But I get confused when computers are entered into the equation.

I have a MBP as well as a 23" HD Apple Cinema Screen

Am I right in saying the MBP doesn't have a HD screen? If im right then what am I seeing when I watch the HD trailers from apples website? Also - the HD creation software that comes with it is pretty pointless if its not got a HD screen...

Also, is it possible for me to watch high definition tv through my mbp/apple hd cinema screen - if not - how come?

Thanks

Full HD resolution ("1080p") is 1920x1080 pixels. The built-in display is about a third of that. The Cinema Display is actually just over full 1080p. Lower HD resolutions, like 720p and 480p, do indeed fit on the integrated display at full resolution.

The MacBook Pro 17" HD display is slightly under HD resolution. (1680 x 1050) It's not full HD but up there. I borrowed a TVMini HD over the weekend and watched HD television on my MacBook Pro and it looked great. I have a Sony KDLV40XBR1 40" HD LCD on order. The MacBook HD will hold me over till the Sony arrives.
