Hi,
I have a PB G4 17" 1.33 Superdrive.
I'm having problems with CD/DVDs ejecting from my PB. The superdrive seems to be working fine (no funny noises or any problems loading), but I cannot get the discs to eject. When I press the eject button, the disc tries to eject but when it doesn't come out from my PB, the disc just stays in the PB and tries to load whatever program/music is on it. The only way I can get a disc out of my PB is to press the eject button and use my fingers to pry open the superdrive slot so the opening is slightly wider. When I do that, the disc comes out by about half an inch, and at that point, I'll just have to yank the disc out with brute force. I don't want to continue doing this since I'm worried that I might eventually damage my superdrive.
Has anyone experienced this type of problem before? Could my superdrive be slightly misaligned?
Finally, does anyone know of any repair facilities in the Los Angeles area? I think it is a simple fix and I can't send it to Apple and be without my PB for a week.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
