Hi!
I have not used my ViaVoice for a while and in the meantime upgraded through 10.3 to 10.4.6. I was surprised when it did not work, but have seen from your forum discussions that this is not new. What baffles me here is that I am the only user and on lauching the VoiceCenter it comes up with a little window which says "Microphone is been used exclusively by another application". It is not even good English, but I am also not running any other program. I have no idea how to locate said hijacking program. I have turned off all widgets. Truly baffled here.

Does anybody have an idea how to address this or is it unfixable?

I've seen the same thing.

I've managed to get around it by deleting some of VV's preference files. It was one (or two?) of the three main .plist files in ~/Library/Preferences (I forget, does VV have its own folder). I don't remember exactly which one. I'm not on my home Mac right now, so I can't locate them or name them specifically.

(The problem appears to come back repeatedly, too.)

[edit] I believe it's com.ibm.vv.VoiceCenter.plist, but it could be one of the other com.ibm.vv entries.
