Firmware Update for 8X Superdrive!

I just got excited when Software Update showed a firmware update that is supposed to address burn speeds on certain media.
Has anyone tried it yet?

Oops.
I searched this PB/MBP forum, and found nothing. I didn't think the internal superdrive counted as a "peripheral".

For what it's worth, I installed it, and my 17" PB recognized a Fuji 16X DVD-R as 8X (I am 99.9% sure this was identified as 2X prior to the update).
I just burned 4.32 GB of data in 13 minutes flat, and it closed the session after 14 minutes flat (I aborted the verification step). I will have to look at the old thread to see if this is a major improvement.

I just checked the "Superdrive Burns at 2X" thread, and based on info there, it is still only burning at about 4.1-4.2X, but this is a big improvement over what I was getting.
I am happier with this burner now.
