Ok, I had made a previous post, on my 17" mac book pro that had a latch that wouldnt stay latched,

I ordered a new one, and apple said they would refund me once they recieved the first one...

I recieved the new one today and it has THE SAME PROBLEM but on the right latch instead of the left... does ANYONE have a 17" MacBook Pro that latches correctly? or am i just going to have to live with this...

(A good test is to put a piece of paper between the latch and where it latches on the bottom half of the computer, test each latch individual and give it some pressure to make sure it is secure in and of itself without the help of the other latch) my mom's 15" macbook pro passes this test with flying colors, it latches perfectly... im wondering if the 17" shouldnt be designed with the same latch system the 15" has

actually what I think everyone is actually describing the "warping" of the top lid, is actually one of the latches NOT latching all the way causing the lid to bend slightly... test each latch on its own by using the paper method... where you give the lid a slight pull and each latch should hold firmly by itself...

If some people with a 17" macbook pro could test this out for me that would be great...

Like this ^ put a paper or card in between the 2 latch parts, but only have one paper cover one of the holes on the bottom half (this is to test each latch strength individuallly)... then pull up on the screen and each latch should hold with the weight of the laptop (the 15" i tested does for each latch) with my 17" I barely touch the lid and the right latch comes undone, and the screen flips open... It just seems like a measurement error on Apple's part, they should have made the thing that the latches hold on to a little bit bigger....

I just got my MBP 15" replaced due to poor latching. There was no warping of the lid issues. It just wouldn't stay closed. Any bump would open the display. The poor MBP was sooo confused....it didn't know if it was asleep or not.
