hey guys, i just got a new 1gb stick of ram form corsair and as I was about to install it on a 17" PB I realized the corsair sticker, after installing the ram, would end up in the bottom, meaning, next to the motherboard.

would this cause any problem, now or in the future?

I tried to take it out and put it on the other side, but it doesn't seem to wanna come out and I don't know if tearing it apart will cause any kind of trouble if I want to exchange it in case it doesn't work.

It might be a dumb question, but I just thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks in advance for your help!

If I recall, one RAM slot is normal and the other is reversed. If the RAM fits, meaning it works with the built-in keying, then there is no problem. I'm more concerned about the fact that you put it in and can't get it back out. If you've somehow forced it in, possibly breaking the slot or the SO-DIMM, that's not good. I hate to always say it, but RTFM. It will show you how to correctly install RAM in your computer.

Steve, I was installing the RAM with TFM right in front of me. On the other hand, you are right, one is normal and the other reversed. The reversed slot is the one empty, that's why the sticker would end up upside down.

Do not remove the sticker.

Doing so will void your warranty, as well as make the RAM stick's specifications impossible to identify without installing it.

The sticker has absolutely no influence on function whatsoever.
