Hi, I'm new to Apple computers, and I just got a Macbook. My goal is to get wireless internet going through my house. here's my set up, I have a cable modem, and a normal router that we'vehad for years that splits up the connection to 4 other computers. anyways, I need to know what I need to get to let it produce a wireless signal. I know about the Airport base =, but that's really expensive, I guess my real question is, is there a wireless adaptor that I can get that will work with my Macbook?? I went to a store today and they had one by a company called Buffalo and it said you plug your ethernet cable into it and it produces a wireless signal, but it said it was made for Windows 2000, 2005, XP, etc., but nothing about Mac. I have a PC, so could I get that and install the device on that, and have the adaptor produce a signal my Macbook can use?? I'm sorry if this has already been discussed here, I tried looking, and I know i probably sound really ignorant, but I'm new to Macs and wireless, so any helpw ould be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Get rid of your old router and but a new one from D-link or Netgear. They both officially support Macs but you can get any 3rd party router that lets you configure it with a web browser.

Buying an adapter can cost you more than a new router.

Wireless routers can be had for $30ish.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"
