I know that Im buying a new macbook. What im not sure of yet is what model. Im going to be using it for regular stuff like all of the ilife apps, blogging, podcasting, itunes, photoshop, and microsoft office. Ill probably be creating tons of home movies with my friends using iMovie HD and recording music with Garageband. Ive been stuck on a 12" iBook G4 1.03 Ghz, 512 MB RAM, so any new macbook should be an upgrade in performance. Ive always regreted not getting the 14" display when I bought my iBook. Does that mean I should spend the extra $$ and get a pro? or will the 13.3" widescreen be big enough? Another thing Im worried about is portability. I dont want either one to be like my ibook. When Im carrying it around I feel like im mushing the screen up against the keyboard and I feel like its not flush.

Only you can answer some of these questions. Will the screen be big enough? I dunno, youre not buying the computer for me--are you? I think the Macbook is a fantastic computer but I can't live with a screen smaller than the 15 inch MBP I have. Then again I don't carry it around a lot.

There are many threads about people trying to make the same decision you are. Just do a search and you'll find a lot discussion on the pros and cons.

I guess i could always buy an external monitor or something if it does not end up being big enough.
